The Nagy Family

Donation protected
On Monday, July 13, 2020, the day after his youngest son's high school graduation, Russ Nagy was struck and seriously injured by a motorcycle while heading on his bicycle for the short trip from home to Gille Park to teach karate class.  With severe injuries in need of the acute medical attention of the professionals at the nearest trauma center, Russ was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.  As if the consequences of this tragic accident weren't enough to endure, it was soon discovered that Russ was Covid-19 Positive.  His internal bleeding was cause for an immediate surgery to repair his spleen. The damage to his legs will require him to have surgeries to completely reconstruct his right leg and hip.  His right knee cap is gone as it was completely shattered.  He suffered many broken ribs in addition to bruising from head to toe.  Russ' wife, Ellen, and their two boys, Joseph and Alex, are now in a 14-day quarantine and cannot go to hospital to visit Russ. They, too, have been tested for Covid-19 and await their results.

Russ, Ellen, and their boys are greatly loved and respected by all that know them personally and also indirectly through various events and activities in their home community of Lacey Township, New Jersey.  As the Corporate Director for Building Services for United Methodist Communities, he manages maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, and grounds, in addition to running all capital projects for UMC's nine communities including the purchasing of PPE for UMC systems. Simply put, Russ takes care of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE.  Russ is an avid golfer and cyclist in addition to both practicing and teaching Kenpo karate, but above all else, he is a fiercely dedicated family man.  Ellen and Russ are 'GOOD PEOPLE' and give to others way more than they could ever receive, but it is time for us to return their overwhelming generosity.

Words cannot describe the devastating financial responsibility that Ellen will now shoulder while Russ is out of work. As a community, we would like to ease some of the stress and shoulder some of the burden on the family by providing monetary donations to help them with the expenses that are yet to come.  We welcome any contributions you are willing to make at this terrible, trying time, and are eternally thankful for any support you may be able to provide. The Nagy family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support from family, friends and those who just want to be able to send prayers, love and thoughts. Please continue to keep Russ, his medical providers, and the entire Nagy family in your thoughts and prayers.
