Help the Nazareth family overcome Myeloma

Hi, my name is Lourdes and I’m a friend of Stephanie and Gerson Nazareth. This past March 2022, Gerson was diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer called Myeloma (blood/plasma cancer). In myeloma, the cells grow too much, crowding out normal cells in the bone marrow that make red blood cells, platelets, and other white blood cells. Multiple myeloma cells are abnormal plasma cells (a type of white blood cell) that build up in the bone marrow and form tumors in many bones of the body.

As with most cancers, this diagnosis was unexpected and still a shock but the family has tried to remain hopeful and faithful during this difficult time. I’ve setup this GoFundMe for them as they’ve shared with me how difficult things will get outside of their current medical situation as Gerson was the primary financial provider for the family. While they have applied for long term disability, there will still be a few months without pay. Like many of their friends, we are all so far away and can’t be there in person to help! On top of it, Gerson’s current condition would limit total amount of people he and family can be in contact with… So I thought a goFundme would be a great way to help them and invite other faraway friends to help as well. At the present time, the greatest need from the Nazareth family is funds for groceries and gas. If you can’t offer any financial help, we always ask for and welcome your prayers for Gerson, Stephanie and their 3 children.

Gerson had been admitted for his stem cell transplant. Thankfully it was a success. But the most difficult and important part now is to make sure he doesn’t get any infections or get sick as anyone who receives this therapy has low immunity so the Nazareth’s will definitely have to limit the total amount of people they are in contact with.
