The New Centre Ukrainian Student Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
This ongoing fundraising will pay for the remaining tuition (1800 USD) of one of our Ukrainian Students, Mstyslav Kazakov, who has been affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as to give two full Scholarships (each 4500 USD) to Ukrainian students who would apply for one of our Certificate Programs in the Fall/Winter Season 2022.
Mstyslav Kazakov is a Certificate student in our Transdisciplinary Studies Program and holds a Ph.D. in Dialectics and Methodology of Cognition from Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic University in Ukraine. Kakazov's research intersects metaphysical pessimism with philosophies of time and disaster, formulating what he terms a theory of "transcendental catastrophism." It is only unfortunate that the situation in Ukraine has made his interests and research more urgent for our time.
Even during these trying times, Mstyslav has maintained a great learning performance and has been active in our Seminars and other channels. About his experience of the conflict and the impact it had on his career and plans, Mstyslav writes:
"Preparing the readings, presentations, writing the final projects under the vailing air raid sirens, artillery cannonades, and the clash of fierce fighting so close are parts of an existential experience that I will never forget. Before the war, I lectured at Kyiv Polytechnic University. After 61 days of enduring war in Kyiv, I have been residing in Funchal, Madeira, living a life I never chose, away from my hundreds of books, with my academic ambitions interrupted by warfare. As I was born and grew up in Chernihiv, I have irreversibly lost part of myself after the destruction which the bloody Russian siege brought to my hometown. The war has affected my past, present, and future perspectives."
As a non-profit Educational platform, The New Centre for Research & Practice has always been autonomous and unaffiliated with any particular government or institution. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, our solidarity has been with the people whose lives are caught in these conflicts. These people include Kakazov and all future students whose studies might be hindered due to the current geopolitical circumstances.
Since its inception eight years ago, The New Centre has operated with the support of our Students, Friends, Members, and those of you who have used donations to help our mission of building a Parallel Academia. We ask you to support us in securing the tuition of our Ukrainian Student, Mstyslav Kakazov, and distributing future Scholarships to Ukrainian students applying for our Certificate Programs in our Fall/Winter Season 2022. Please help us in our effort by donating and sharing this fundraising with your friends, family, and on your social media platforms!
