The Ngo Family

Hello, our names are Thao and Sabrina Ngo and our hearts are heavy as we reach out to you in our time of need. Our parents, Alex and Annie Ngo, moved to America in the late 90s with nothing but the dream of a better life. They had to work tirelessly to become successful business owners, and after many years of sacrifice, they were finally able to buy a commercial shrimping boat.

However, on March 11th, 2023, everything they had worked for was destroyed in a matter of seconds. The engine room caught on fire and consumed the boat, and our dad was lucky enough to escape with his life. As our dad tried to stop the fire and save our family boat, he could not stop the spreading of the flames and had to jump off the boat into the Gulf of Mexico. This tragic event has caused our dad to lose his livelihood and our only main source of income.

As we grew up, we came to truly appreciate how he worked very hard to provide a means of living for his family even though he is disabled. Our mother has been unable to work due to being continuously ill, so it has solely been our dad for over 20 years.

Now, all the hard work and many struggles our dad had to face to make a living are gone, and we have nothing. We are scared and anxious because our parents do not speak English, which makes it much harder to get a job anywhere.

My sister and I are still in college, and we are not yet in a position to financially support our parents. We are terrified and concerned about our future, and we know our parents are too, no matter how much they try to hide it.

We are asking for your help to support our family as we face this difficult time. Every donation would mean a lot, no matter how small. Your generosity would ease the heavy financial stress our parents have been dealing with and provide support for us to get back on our feet and start rebuilding our lives.
