The Nyman Family

Hello, My name is Lorri Leonardi and I have created this fundraiser for Marianne Nyman. I have known the Nymans for 9 years and have been teaching their son Niko during this time. This fundraiser is extremely important as they are an incredible family that would do anything to help anyone in a time of need. I am hoping with the power of social media we can do the same for them.

On March 8, Marianne was on her way to see her daughter, Iida, in NYC. Her trip stopped unexpectedly at White Plains train station, where she was found unconscious. She was rushed to a nearby hospital and was very quickly transferred to Montefiore in the Bronx due to a ruptured brain aneurysm. The family had to make quick decisions on difficult questions. In addition to making it through two risky surgeries, she has overcome all complications from these surgeries despite the odds. Marianne is a fighter. She spent 2.5 weeks in the ICU and five days in another department of the hospital before beginning rehab this past Friday 3/31. She is getting better every day but has a long road ahead of her. There are a lot of uncertainties with coverage of the lengthy out of network hospital stay and the procedures, not to mention significant medical expenses in the coming months for her continued care. Once she gets home, she will likely need a lot of help and support, making it difficult for her family to all be working as much as they need to. The family greatly appreciates all efforts to help during this very difficult time.
