ABOUT ME
Hello, dear! My name is Sabrina. I'm a 35-year-old artist, traveler, mother and nature enthusiast, nurturing a boundless creative spirit. I live between two countries: Switzerland and Lanzarote. Where I find inspiration in the contrasts of both worlds.
What I wish for this planet is more peace in the minds of humanity, less jealousy about what other people have. Allowing individuals to discover their own inner passion to create and share meaningful and colorful moments together. By focusing on discovering our own passions and forming meaningful connections with others, I envision a world evolving towards a more peaceful future.
I've always been passionate about creating spaces where people can come together for visions, creative exchange, music, and arts. It's about providing an open space for passionate individuals to showcase their creativity to the world.
In 2018, we revitalized an old abandoned house in Zurich, bringing it to life with exhibitions, live concerts, flea markets, gardening, graffiti, and many other creative activities.
In 2021 I had a vision of a place where people all over the world meet for Inspiration, co-creation, developing new Ideas and creating gatherings, with other creative and passionate beings. This year I got the chance to build a space like this in Lanzarote. Organizing and facilitating workshops, inviting artists, musicians and creating an open and free space.
WHY LANZAROTE
Lanzarote holds a special place in my heart. I fell in love with this island nine years ago, and since then, I've been traveling back and forth regularly. I'm captivated by the island's unique features, particularly its numerous volcanic formations that sculpt the landscape, allowing creativity to flow freely amidst vibrant colors. It's a truly magical place, raw and authentic.
As one of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote bears the imprint of the artist and architect César Manrique, who prioritized preserving the island's natural beauty. Thanks to his efforts, there's a harmonious balance between human presence and nature on Lanzarote. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the pure beauty of nature while embracing the rich cultural diversity of the Canary Islands.
THE OPEN ART GALLERY
The space is situated in an inspiring environment, crafted with love and attention to detail by the artist Stipo Pranyko over many years. It’s a place that exudes pure inspiration, captivating visitors and inviting them to marvel at every corner.
In 1990, Stipo settled in a house in Tahíche that was in need of renovation. During this period, his artistic work began to incorporate stronger sculptural elements. The years spent physically transforming this house reflected his desire to merge art and life, allowing his creations to engage in a dialogue with the architecture.
Around 1993, he started exploring a closer relationship between his murals and the surrounding architecture, merging painting, drawing, and sculpture in his work. Drawings mounted on canvas became integral parts of his paintings, expanding into the space beyond the frame and transforming into three-dimensional objects. Stipo’s use of predominantly white color for paper, canvas, and embedded found objects lends his work a sense of simplicity, purity, and profound stillness, simultaneously abstract and narrative.
His art often intertwines memories from his childhood in impoverished conditions with later life experiences, grappling with existential questions of life and death, love, loss, pain, and happiness while celebrating the beauty of simple existence.
In 2012, Stipo Pranyko departed from Lanzarote, embarking on another journey that led him to settle in Munich, where he passed away in 2021.
THE PROJECT IDEA
The open Art Gallery in Lanzarote serves as a creative hub primarily for the local community around and welcoming local artists in various forms of art. It's a place where we can freely exchange ideas and inspiration without limitations based on age, gender, or background. Creativity thrives when we have the freedom to express ourselves genuinely and authentically.
The open Gallery is a safe haven to experiment, take risks, and embrace the creative process without fear of failure. This space aims to offer a platform for undiscovered artists, workshops, intimate concerts, and community gatherings.
Co-Creation is the key. In exchange with other like minded people there can grow incredible ideas. Energies are coming together and something that not existed before can grow out of it.
Co-creation refers to a process in which companies, organizations or individuals work together with their customers, users or other partners to develop products, services or ideas.
As part of co-creation, the various people are actively involved in the innovation process and have the opportunity to contribute their ideas, needs and feedback. This collaboration creates products and solutions that are better tailored.
Co-creation can occur at various levels. The approach is based on the idea that shared creativity and collaboration can lead to more innovative and focused results.
YOUR SUPPORT
Your support of Fr. 6900.- covers the rent for the space for one year, plus painting and other materials for the initial phase. With your support you ensure that artists, musicians, and workshop facilitators can pursue their creative endeavors without the burden of high rent costs at the outset of their journey.
The space will be inclusive, welcoming people of all ages, languages, and genders. I seek your support in creating more open spaces where creativity can thrive and visions can take shape. Together, let's cultivate a more vibrant community where we increasingly embrace co-creation and celebrate our collective creativity.
THANK YOU
Thank you for your support! You're helping to build a creative space, that is going to bring a lot of joy, inspiration and colors to the community.
