The Orion B. Fuller Library Legacy Project
Orion Fuller, our dearly departed Greeley Colorado native, fully embodied the term wordsmith. He was talking clearly well before two years old and reading by three years old. Orion LOVED to read! Reading was a constant source of comfort, entertainment, education, and motivation. Words that described him by the adults who knew or met him as a very young child were, ‘brilliant’, ‘genius’, ‘prodigy’. He astounded everyone he met. His ability to articulate, translate, an engineer written words was akin to his namesake. Out of this world.
In 2019, Orion successfully instituted a community development project. He started a book-drive. He gathered hundreds of children’s and adult books to be housed in the lobby of North Range Behavioral Health, an adult treatment facility in his community. The books can now be checked out via honor system by any member of the program as well as their families.
On June 1st, 2020, sadly and so very prematurely, this one-of-kind soul was called home. However, his tremendous gift for reading can easily be instilled in countless others and is the motivation for ‘The Orion B. Fuller Legacy Project’.
In memoriam of Orion we – his family, friends, and loved ones are accepting donations in his name, toward the establishment of the new Downtown Greeley Library. Specifically, we would like to erect a bench in his name with a comforting shade tree – welcoming readers of all ages for generations to come.
As we remain in awe of the gift of Orion, we humbly and gratefully ask you to please consider making a donation of any amount to honor Orion’s life, and legacy.
