The O'Toole Family Fund

Jimmy O'Toole was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bone and Lung Cancer in September 2021. He has fought hard against this disease and is now at home with the care of hospice. Jimmy's spirit is strong, and attitude is impressive. Known for his smile and wit that can light up the room, Jimmy now needs our strength and support. He is married to NQHS 1991 classmate Kara (Sullivan) and father of Kaycee, Karaline, Shamus and Kate. His family is his greatest joy. He's a longtime Quincy resident (Wollaston, North Quincy, Houghs Neck) and 26 year Verizon union employee; Local 2222. 

 

In partnership with family and friends, Margaret and Jeff Laforest of Quincy, MA are coordinating this account and chairing a fundraiser to help alleviate their financial pressures. Jeff Laforest met Jimmy O'Toole the first day of 5th grade at Parker School and have been best friends since. Jeff, Jimmy and Kara all graduated North Quincy High School together. Friends are the family you choose! We are godparents of each others kids and love them all and Kara. Jeff and Jimmy are also co-workers at Verizon. Our extended family and friends all know and love "Uncle Jimmy". 

 

We have set up the O'Toole Family Fund as a nonprofit to benefit the family. EIN#88-2145747. Please note donations are not tax deductible. Your donation will be deposited in The O'Toole Family Fund and the funds will be used for a variety of expenses including regular family bills, educational, medical, and ancillary needs. Expenses will be paid directly from the account. Checks payable to the O'Toole Family Fund can be mailed directly to Liberty Bay Credit Union, 300 Granite St, Braintree, MA 02184. We would love to have you join us and welcome donations for our in-person event, "A Night for Jimmy O'Toole", Friday, June 3, 2022, from 7-11 pm at the IBEW Local 103 Freeport Hall, Dorchester. Tickets $20 available in advance or at the door.
