On September 21st, baseball and rock lost their biggest fan. Dave Quintana passed away at seven o’clock in the morning, leaving behind his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and many people in his personal life who loved him. He is deeply missed and we are saddened by his sudden death. Dave was an ever-optimistic and generous presence in the lives of those he touched, handing out a spare dollar or even donating his clothes to those in need on the streets of Los Angeles. He recognized his blessings in this life and always tried his hardest to repay them. His compassion and hard-working heart followed him into his job at First Legal, where he was stationed at Quinn Emmanuel. There, he made many friends of his colleagues and was known for his grit and kindness. He would often say how lucky he was to be working with such amazing people, and enjoyed the socialization that came along with working for two entities at once. In fact, some of the fondest memories Nancy, his widow, has of their time together happened at work-related holiday parties.

Dave was also an avid guitar player, inspired by the greats of his time like Van Halen. He would spend many weekends playing in bands with his sister, Raquel, and close, musical friends of his. They played many shows and he always loved having his friends on stage with him in front of an audience. He passed down the love of guitar to his youngest daughter, Kelly, who hopes to continue teaching herself where he left off. Hopefully, Dave and Eddie Van Halen are having a rock session of their own now in Heaven.

From Nancy:

Dave and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary last October 14th in Cancun, Mexico. We had the most beautiful experience when we went deep sea fishing, another of Dave's favorite experiences. He always bragged about himself catching a Marlin off the coast of Baja, California in Cabo San Lucas and was hoping to do the same in Cancun. We did catch some fish and ate it for lunch, something he enjoyed very much. Every day, I miss his sense of vigor, adventure, and passion for life.  I can only hope that he is doing all of his favorite things in the afterlife and looking down on us as we continue on in living our lives enjoying the company of others and tightening our grip on our passions, just as he would have wanted.
