The Pasta Lab - Equipment Installation Costs

Hi everyone, Gina and Chris here,

Since 2018 The Pasta Lab has been subleasing 400 square feet of space from a local catering operation here in Philadelphia. This arrangement has been wonderful and is largely responsible for our success thus far. Unfortunately, we've reached a bottleneck with our production and have run out of much needed square footage to accomodate our continued growth. After years of searching we have finally signed a lease for a new production space in the Tacony/Bridesburg area of Philadelphia. We will finally have the space we need to hire staff and bring in equipment with a higher production capacity. We have recently secured financing for some of our new equipment but unfortunately the installation costs are on us. The estimates we've received have exceeded our available cash on hand and we're hoping our existing network is willing to step in and help.

We've been going back and forth on whether or not to launch a Kickstarter or GoFundMe to help us with this project. We love the format of a Kickstarter campaign but after doing some back of napkin math we realized we'd have to nearly double our fundraising goal in order to cover the material, labor, & shipping costs required to fulfill the rewards. For this reason, we've decided that GoFundMe is better suited for our needs right now.

We expect the donated funds to be allocated as follows:

$9000 walk-in cooler & freezer installation

$5500 electrical upgrades

$2000 plumbing upgrades

$1500 combi oven installation

We've been slowly building an incredible network of supporters since our launch 5 years ago. We are eternally grateful for each and every one of you and acknowledge that we wouldn't have made it this far without you.
