The Pat Sipe Memorial Fund

Dear Family and Friends,

We are Rick and Gaynor Heine, lifelong friends of Pat Sipe, and we have created this memorial fund to honor Pat's incredible life he shared with so many of us.

As some may not know, Pat unexpectedly passed away while spending Thanksgiving in Florida with his girls and his grandson. Pat, Brittany, Tiffany, and Jadyn had spent a beautiful day with their extended family, enjoying the long-awaited visit and a delicious homecooked meal. After returning to their house in the early evening, Pat went to lie down for a short rest before gathering around the firepit for some family fun. It was at that time Tiffany heard Pat take his last breaths. CPR was administered until medics arrived. Pat was rushed to the hospital and was immediately taken into ICU. Throughout the night, doctors worked tirelessly on him. Unfortunately, Pat's heart rate and pulse steadily declined. Brittany and Tiffany never left his side and were able to tell Pat everything that daughters would want to share with their dad in his last moments.

In Pat's words, Brittany, Tiffany, and Jadyn were his "happy place." His face would light up each time he spoke about them. During the week leading up to Thanksgiving, Pat often commented about his upcoming trip to Florida and wanting to take Jadyn fishing. Pat looked his very best the day he left for the airport. He had gotten a fresh haircut and was wearing new jeans and his "always had to coordinate" sneakers for the special occasion. Joann, his sister, even remarked about how handsome he looked as they were driving to the airport. That was the last time Joann or any one else saw Pat.

After having time to process all that has taken place, we are so incredibly grateful to God that Pat could spend his last hours in his "happy place." That would have been his wish too.

We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Pat's funeral and the family's travel expenses. Pat's memorial service will be held in Virginia Beach at a later date and will be announced. After the funeral expenses have been paid, any remaining money will be used for the education and care of Pat's grandson and buddy, Jadyn.
