Help us "Raise the Roof" !
Stockport Cricket, Lacrosse and Bowls Clubs are fundraising to help cover the costs of a new roof for their historic Pavilion.
This building is an iconic piece of local history which needs to be preserved.
Built in the 1880's in the "Arts and Crafts" style by the cricket and lacrosse clubs it has served the sports clubs and local people well for the last 100+ years
The club provides grass roots sports for local children from the Stockport area in both cricket and lacrosse. Cricket was founded in 1855 and lacrosse in 1876. The lacrosse club is the oldest continually playing lacrosse club in the world and celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2026. The green space around the club house was opened up to local residents to use for walking and leisure activities during the pandemic, it also provides sports facilities to three local schools with no green space.
The Pavilion club house provides a social hub for the sports club members, and also function rooms available for community activities.
Our club is run as a CASC, which means not for profit we also endeavour to offer the lowest membership costs in the UK to local children to enable the sports to be accessible to all. This means additional fundraising is necessary to help us cover the cost of the new roof. We hope current and past members, members of the local community and local businesses will help us achieve our goal.
