The Pendulum: A Cancer Journey

Since last February, when Sarah was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, we have laughed and cried with her as she posted with humor and pathos on the CaringBridge site. More than a few of you have suggested that her journal entries should be collected in a more permanent form. That project is now underway. Will you join us to fund a privately published volume of Sarah's CaringBridge updates, to be distributed to you, her community of friends and family friends?

 

The book will go to press after Sarah writes her last post. She has asked for support in securing the funding now.

 

George Colt and Anne Fadiman are working closely with Sarah to copy-edit and design the book, which Sarah has titled The Pendulum: A Cancer Journey. With funds raised here, there will be enough for 200 soft-cover copies to be printed by Off the Common Books in Amherst, plus mailing expenses to you, her CaringBridge community.

 

In addition to funding the printing and mailing costs of the book, Sarah would like to donate a portion of the amount raised here to the Dempsey Center, a cancer support organization that has provided free, compassionate help to Sarah and her family--as well as to many other Maine families.
