“The People Could Fly” is an Afro-Futuristic womanist re-telling of the rebellion at Igbo Landing. This theatrical production is presented in ten acts and is the creative written work of the Black Girl Mixtape Collective.
The Black Girl Mixtape Collective is comprised of eight women with backgrounds as creatives, thought leaders, artists, authors, and community builders who are dedicated to liberation. Their names are EbonyJanice Moore, Sonya Renee Taylor, Mahogany L. Browne, Nikki Blak, Khadijah Abdul-Mateen, Roya Marsh, Zakkiyah Abdul-Mateen and Thea Monyeé.
