Banana 2.0

Dear Friends & Banana Enthusiasts,
Several years ago, a dream was born to build a giant, 30-foot banana on wheels. Some of you may know Mr. SuperBananaBigtime, Sebastian, who had a love of bananas like no other. Having previously built big art in the desert, he wanted to bring his dream to life. Skip forward to last year, after countless hours spent and endless moments of figuring things out, the Banana made its maiden voyage to TTITD. Lessons were learned, more ideas were considered, and the community started taking root. Since last year, the Banana made it to Lightning in a Bottle, friendships were solidified, and the real work began.
It is now that the Banana is truly ready to ripen. Please allow us to officially announce The People’s Banana, a fruit not split in purpose, but one that we hope will a-peel to a bunch of you!
While we are busy prepping again to return to the desert, there is much work to be done and we are hoping to raise enough money to help with the cost of the rebuild, enhancements, and maintenance of The People’s Banana for both the burn as well as the future. We have already incorporated through the state of California and are in the final steps to being a 501c3 which will allow us to fully realize the dream.
The true intent of the project is to meaningfully give back to the community and it is with that in mind that we are humbly asking for donations. The team has acquired a new electric vehicle chassis and begun the work on Banana 2.0. Though we’ve already covered some major expenses we are anticipating quite a bit more over the next 30 days. The People’s Banana is currently in the shop being outfitted with a steel frame after it took a beating from all the booty bongoes at LiB. It will receive a fresh powder coat, and enhanced lighting and safety features amongst other tweaks and fixes to ensure it’s longevity.
While the People’s Banana has and will continue to make appearances at fun festivals, we’re also partnering with other organizations in the community for charitable events and fundraisers. Please stay tuned to get the updates as we finalize the details.
It’s in that spirit of community that the team has committed to an hour of community service or volunteerism for every $100 raised. We think this ties nicely into our objective of giving back and spreading a little happiness around. After experiencing children and adults lighting up when seeing a giant, music-playing banana rolling down the street, our mission was galvanized. We appreciate your help with our mission and look forward to bringing a little joy and goodness forth.
We are happy to share the journey and invite you along for it! Thank you in advance and we look forward to many shared bananagins.
With gratitude,
The People’s Banana
