Pettus Family Medical Emergency

On May 15, 2023 the Pettus family received devastating news that not only did Chris develop pneumonia but he also had a large abnormal growth in one of his lungs. Christopher Pettus is a 17 year, in good-standing member of Local 479 and up until he started receiving care for this growth at City of Hope, a division of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan Georgia, he had been keeping some of his union brothers and sisters employed during the strike with his small business. Unfortunately he had to take a step back when treatment became bi-weekly and he had to start daily infusion treatments after developing an infection due to his weakened immune. Chris was fully released to go back work in late September with pre-scheduled check-ups when a series of disastrous events led to his family's current hardship.
In October he had some equipment stolen off a job site and the cost of this theft left him and his family without health insurance. This has not only caused Chris to be unable to continue with his check-ups at City of Hope, but in December his oldest child developed a medical emergency that has left them temporarily hemiplegic and facing possible surgery. And with no medical coverage, medical bills have started to pile up and medical facilities, such as doctors with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, are refusing to help with his child's treatment until these bills are paid.
This family would be eternally grateful for any help provided. Thank you and God Bless.
