The Piocza Family

 

This statement comes on behalf of the many lives touched by the Piocza family. An announcement of this nature comes with immeasurable sorrow. On Saturday June 25th Bela and his wife Peggy were involved in a motorcycle accident outside of Merritt. Officials at the scene stated that our beloved Bela has passed away as a result of this tragic incident, and Peggy has been placed in the ICU with serious injuries. We have been informed that her condition is relatively stable despite the need for further medical attention. As we struggle to find words in grieving this loss, family and Bela’s three brave sons stay at their mother’s side as she continues to fight.

 

For those that knew Bela, you know that he was a pillar in every community he touched. He was truly larger than life and occupied the center of the room regardless of the occasion. He was a loving father, husband, son, sibling, coach, teammate and friend to all that were lucky enough to be in his life. As much as he would tease and poke fun at us, he did it all with so much love. Bela was the king of bringing the best out of people; without words he could make you crack up. His laugh still echoes through our minds. His smile will never be forgotten. A selfless man that refused to let many things get the best of him - his light will never go dim.

 

At this time, we hope to alleviate some of the financial stressors that the Piocza family may be facing. We ask you to open your hearts for the fantastic man Bela was and for all that he leaves behind. Please keep Peggy in your prayers as we wish her a full recovery.
