Help Courtney and the Poe family through ICU

UPDATE:

We’re in the second full day of being in the ICU. Courtney has had the tubes removed from her throat. She had emergency surgery to stop the bleeding from her liver, and to fix her arm. Her Radius and Ulna are both broken, one was protruding from her arm, and nerves and tendons in her arm both got crushed between the broken bones. They are not sure if she will have feeling in her right arm again. Her radiocarpal joint broke, she has two broken ribs, a shattered eye socket, and a dislocated right hip.

Today is the first day that physical therapists tried to sit her up. They were thinking they could potentially get her standing. When they sat her up, she passed out from the immense amount of pain, and her blood pressure spiked to 210/95. So the plans of her leaving the ICU today or tomorrow have been pushed back until she’s able to stand up. Which is estimated in about one week. She has insurance, but we are looking at an average of $20,000 a day. At this point we are unsure how much the insurance will be covering. Her life flight helicopter was not covered as she was flown from 248 Branson to Springfield.

Her physical pain & mental strain is beyond what we can explain at this moment.

Anything you donate will help her at this point. This tragedy was so unexpected. We didn’t know what else to do.

All hands are on deck rn at the hospital to physically help the skeleton crew as much as we can also.

My name is Chelsea and I am raising funds for my 19 year old little sister, Courtney Poe, who was in a serious car accident Saturday the 24th sometime around 11pm. She is currently in the ICU suffering critical injuries and several broken bones.

The used car she purchased a month ago ended up catching fire on impact, which resulted in a huge explosion. She lost her car, phone, and more of the few belongings she had left due to a house fire she suffered from in May of 2023.
