The Portland Stage at Strawberry Fair

Hi my name is Mike Wilson and I have volunteered on the Strawberry Fair Committee for over twenty years.

From humble beginnings in the 1970s, Strawberry Fair has grown to be the most popular free, entirely volunteer run, one day music & arts event in Cambridge (and probably across Europe!), attracting over 30,000 visitors throughout the day. On 1 June 2024 on Midsummer Common, Cambridge we will be celebrating fifty (50) golden years of Strawberry Fair!

We are not-for-profit and non-political, independent and self-funding. Strawberry Fair is run by the community for the community .

We always struggle to raise funds to put this event on for free for our community, but every year it's even more difficult with increased costs and less funds available with a greater demand for them.

The Portland Stage https://www.facebook.com/Portlandstageandbar is the largest indoor area on-site at Strawberry Fair www.strawberry-fair.org.uk. and has been going for nine years featuring eclectic quality performances showcasing hundreds of our best local entertainers, singer/songwriters, duos and bands in the area.

As well as the Fair's 50th year, we will also be celebrating our 10th year of the Portland Stage!. It costs a lot to put the stage on. If a few hundred of the thousands of people that attend feel able to contribute a pound or two towards putting on this amazing event we would be very grateful.
