Lāhainā Fire Relief for the Probst Family
Donation protected
Aloha, my name is Ashley and I was born and raised in Lāhainā, Maui, where my family has roots going back to 1884. On Aug. 8, 2023, my hometown was destroyed by what is now considered the deadliest wildfire in modern U.S. history, and almost everything is gone.
We’ve lost lives, historic spaces, businesses and homes, including the house I grew up in. My dad lived in that house for 46 years and his family built it from the ground up. We will now have to do the same and hope to rebuild on my parents’ Front Street property.
We also lost our family business, as we were the owners of the Banyan Inn Marketplace. This space housed various businesses, most of which were owned by close friends of mine. This is five generations of our family history and livelihood that have been desecrated.
At the time of creating this GoFundMe page, we do not know the full extent of the damage but, based on aerial photos, it is presumed that all of our possessions and three of our cats are gone.
These are unprecedented times and anything you’re able to give will be greatly appreciated. Funds will go towards temporary housing for my family and the pets we were able to save, new clothes and necessary supplies as well as future efforts to rebuild our home.
