Puget Sound Conservation EP
Biologist and science educator Dan Lombardo and singer songwriter Shelley Segal (pictured) are creating a musical project about the Puget Sound Watershed, called 'Great Loud Sound'. The project teaches about the different species that live in the sound, such as Orcas, oysters and salmon, the way they interact with one another and the struggles that those species face.
The project is educational, with an overall message of conservation. We want to help people to appreciate this unrivalled and stunning eco-system and also to inspire folks to take action to help protect this incredible resource, for the animals themselves but also for ours and future generations.
Shelley and Dan performed some of the songs at a Summer Camp and received an extremely strong emotional response from the young audience members. The next day kids were creating and putting up posters around the camp, sharing their passion for what they had learned
(Picture is a child's drawn poster that reads, 'Thanks Dan and Shelley. Now we know!')
One of our goals is to produce a live performance of the project and take it to schools and colleges around the United States to share this powerful message of appreciation and conservation.

The money we are raising will cover the costs of musicians and producers, recording, mixing and mastering the songs, creating commissioned animations to help tell the story behind the songs and engage audiences young and old alike. The videos and songs that will create will be available on youtube for the public to watch and enjoy! We are also raising money to help with the promotion of this important project to spread the message far and wide.
Any money raised above what we are asking for will go to Marine Science Afloat Scholarship funds which enable students from low income families to go out on to the Puget Sound on a scientific expedition communicating principals of environmental awareness and stewardship
