The Purdy Boys' Medical Fund
Donation protected
Just two weeks after having Drew admitted into the ICU, the Purdy family found themselves being rushed once again to Golisano Children's Hospital with their oldest son, Derrick.
Yesterday, while playing basketball, Derrick passed out on the basketball court. He collapsed, stopped breathing, and began seizing. Thankfully, a grandmother at the game was a nurse and she began chest compressions, while his mother performed mouth to mouth. There was an AED machine at the game and he was shocked twice. Praise God that his heart started again. He then was rushed to Golisano Children's Hospital where he was diagnosed with ventricular fibrillation. As soon as he is able, Derrick will be transferred to Tampa or Gainesville to get a defibrillator placed into his body.
Earlier in the month, Kim took her son to the pediatrician, because she knew something had not been right with her middle son, Drew. She was instructed to go to Golisano Children's Hospital. This 15 year old boy's life was about to change as he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to this family who has a special place in all of our hearts. Their lives have all been turned upside down, and we would like to help ease the burden of all the medical expenses which they have and will continue to incur. Any amount you can donate would be much appreciated.
