The Putz DIY foundation

The Putz Skatepark is a community do-it-yourself skate park located behind Walgreens in Hopatcong, NJ. After the demolition of Brundage Skatepark in Randolph, adults, teens, and children from the community have come back to Putz Park to skateboard, rollerskate, ride bikes, and scooter.

The skatepark has been improved greatly over the summer of 2023. All features constructed have been funded entirely out of pocket by a few skateboarders, scrounging together everything we have in order to improve the space for everyone’s enjoyment.

We need your donation to keep the Putz Skatepark going and growing!! The park has unlimited potential, and can grow beyond our wildest dreams, but the cost of concrete construction is far from cheap.

The skatepark is a community hub for socialization and open space. It's a place of gathering for all ages, whether they skateboard or not. Those who use the park have commented on its cleanliness and the fact they can enjoy recreational activities safely, not on sidewalks or the streets in the danger of traffic.

We have a core group of volunteers that build the obstacles, clean up, remove trash every week, control vegetation overgrowth, and sweep debris. This is all an effort to show that we are not here to just skateboard, we have a vested interest in the appearance and quality of living in our community.

We come to you, the community, to ask for your support. Putz Skatepark is for everyone, no one will ever be turned away. Our park has one simple rule: RESPECT. That means treating the space and people that use it in a way that is encouraging, sustainable, and positive.

Please help this community endeavor continue to grow and thrive. We need your help to raise funds for concrete and materials in order to build an awesome community built skate park. We’re also more than happy to take donations in the form of time, building materials like rubble, bricks, sand, cement, wood and anything else that might be useful.
