The Raynbow House Mission

The following text is an email my partner sent to Mercury Stardust (The Trans HandyMa'am)

I wish I could say that I was emailing you to just fan human about you but alas I need help. I could go on and on about the repairs on the our first home my partner and I just bought but my heart can not be selfish. I am actually contacting you about my chosen dad he is a transman of color This man has a heart of gold. He is an Advocate for transgender humans he has fought in battles with courts to get Kansas to allow the transcommunity to not only change their name but change gender markers as well (still a battle for kansas) he is involved in BTMI (Black transmen inc) he holds meetings at his house. he is just a genuine soul, he came from a pretty pretty rough background and even with that background he is still Just absolutely amazing but with every amazing soul comes an amazing heart that wants to help and give the shirts off their back to help one another and that has led him down a rough road. I 1st met this man back in 2017 I met him through my now husband and chosen mom who has since left this world to watch over us kids. My partner and I moved to topeka in Jan 2018 he opened his door and we stayed with him for a couple month to get on our feet as many of us kids have done he has always had an open door policy with us. He is a dad/mentor/guide/ life coach to Many of us lgbtqia humans here in kansas and the best dad anyone could ask for which leads me to this email because we kids are his world no matter what we go through or what we put him threw he will always love us unconditionally.

He just bought his home he has been living in for many years and there is alot of repairs that need to be done and I don't even know where to begin I know the roof is a big issue that's leading to holes in his ceiling I know us kids would rally to get it all done ourselves but we don't know what we are doing he applied for assistance but because he's only 50 and not 55 they won't help woth repairs. I'm just in need of guidance.

AND SHE RESPONDED!!!

She is making her first trip here tomorrow, Saturday June 18th (with contracting help) to assess the damage in person. We are collecting funds for roof replacement, interior repair, plumbing, drywall, potential mold remediation, and anything else the contractors say is needed.
