Hi! I'm Stephen Nichols. I'm an expert game developer with over 20 years of experience making games professionally. My credits include titles like Draw Something, Dungeon Runners, Freelancer, and Jangle.
I love making games that people want to play!
I'm also the original designer and developer of The Realm Online. The Realm Online was one of the first graphical massively multiplayer online games ever made.

It was published by Sierra On-line back in 1996 and used the familiar and accessible point-and-click adventure style popularized by the Kings Quest game series. This year marks the 20th anniversary of The Realm Online's commercial launch. The current owners of the game have allowed it to lapse into deep neglect. The servers aren't staying up and the game is on it's last legs.
Yes, the original game is still up and running 20 years later! :-)
I'm making it my personal goal to lead the production and launch of a spiritual successor to this Internet classic.
The working title of the new game is "The Realm: Reawakened."

Building a quality game of this magnitude will take money and considerable preproduction work. I'd like to launch a Kickstarter campaign in February/March to raise money for production of the game.
I'm personally bankrolling what portions I can of the preproduction work. This includes server setup, initial coding, software purchases, and concept artwork commissioning.
Sadly, though, I'm not made of money! I'm looking to raise up to $50,000 to help bankroll the remaining preproduction work for the game.
This money will be used for:
1. Funding prototype development.
2. Creating concept art, mockups, and prototype art for the game.
3. Inbound marketing and awareness building for the coming Kickstarter campaign.
It's my belief that The Realm: Reawakened has the potential to entertain a lot of people. The simple point-and-cick adventure style is very accessible and encourages a form of social play not found in many other products.
The original game has touched a great many people, fostered lifelong relationships, and helped to define what online gaming meant for countless folks. I want to bring that experience to more people!
I also believe that, with proper funding, we can release a playable version of The Realm: Reawakened in 2016. The first step on that journey, though, is driving the preproduction and preparing to fundraise on Kickstarter.
I'm excited to bring the timeless fun of The Realm: Reawakened to a new generation of players. Won't you help me realize this vision? Donate what you can so that the game can get off to a great start and the Kickstarter campaign can be a smashing success!
Thanks for reading. :-)
