'The Relented' - Short Film - big impact

The Relented is a short film based in the year 2043. After two decades of political and economical turmoil, society has broken down. We follow Mitchell, a young man and newly declared Dissent, surviving alone as hunter gatherer in the wild for the past 18 months. As Mitchell makes his way through dangerous territories, on a slow route to the Freeland when he finds himself in an interaction he thought not possible.
Who are the Dissents?
When the far right took control of territories across England, citizens of towns and cities where forced to align with their host parties ideologies and live under their extreme ruling, or face imprisonment or worse - execution. Dissents are those who refuse to live by the newly imposed rules on their society and therefore become prisoners awaiting judgement. Few manage to escape, and even less survive, where will Mitchell find himself?

 

After the pain that he has suffered in the loss of society as he knew it, not to mention the 18 months of solitude in nature, What will be the result of this chance encounter?

 

The Relented has been written to be produced simply. It can be shot in one day, using a single location with minimal complications, making for an efficient production process.

 

This is a project born from a passion for making films in an industry which can be notoriously challenging for new and emerging talent. We want to help change that.

 

We are raising funds to pay for our wonderful professionals, equipment and resources. We believe in creating real paid opportunities for aspiring industry professionals.

 

 

WHAT WILL I GET IN RETURN?
We appreciate any support, be it financially or simply through sharing the campaign. Firstly, you will get that warm fuzzy feeling, knowing that you directly impacted the progression of our rising talent and their part in this indie short. If you are able to contribute financially to the cost of production, this is what we are offering in return:

£5-£25 - HONORABLE DISSENT:
Honorable Dissent status will get your name a well deserved place in the credits before and after 'The Relented'. You will be listed as a key contributor.

£50 + - SENIOR DISSENT:
Senior Dissent status will also see you listed as a key contributor on the opening and closing credits of 'The Relented'. However your name will also make it on to Mitchell's Redemption list in the film. What is Mitchell's Redemption list I hear you ask? Well to get the true answer to this question, you will have to watch the film ;)

£100 + - CHIEF OF THE FREELAND: Chief of The Freeland. The greatest honor, achieving this status will see you listed individually as an Executive Producer of 'The Relented'. You will of course also find yourself on Mitchell's Redemption list, but best of all - you will be given exclusive access to 'The Relented' before its general release!

As well as contracting individuals, the funding will also help us get onto the Short film festival circuit, increasing our audience and positive impact.

 

The Relented will shoot towards the end of January 2022, and with a short edit process we are able to complete the process very quickly.
