THE RESISTANCE - TOGETHER FOR THE AMAZON

Donation protected

Remember last year's Amazon forest fires? They were exactly one year ago. They ravaged acres of pristine million year old rainforests.

This year the fires are coming back with a force.
July saw a 20% increase in forest fires compared to last year (the Amazon's worst year in history)
What is happening? Manmade fires from cattle ranchers are taking advantage of no policing due to covid19.

For a future with the Amazon Rainforest we ask you to JOIN THE RESISTANCE. How? By donating to ISA and avoiding meat for the entire month of August.

What is ISA? - Instituto Socio Ambiental

When it comes to the protection of indigenous rights, lands and the Amazon ISA is the first NGO that comes to mind.
ISA is a Brazilian non-profit founded in 1994 with the goal of finding integrated solutions to Brazil’s social and environmental issues. In the last 25 years they have been working alongside indigenous, quilombola and extractivist communities to create a new development model that respects both indigenous rights and the environment. One that protects their territories, culture, traditional knowledge and raises their political profile in Brasilia.

ISA monitors and acts on Brasil's public policies daily, owning the largest database information on territories, indigenous populations and conservation units in Brazil. They have become the reference point for information for worldwide press, researchers and governments.

Their advocacy and legal work in Brasilia is the world's most valuable asset right now. With a legal team in Brasilia working alongside the Legislative, Executive and Judicial powers, they broaden public debate and contribute to decision-making on environmental and indigenous policies.

Today, they are our best bet to enacting real political change in Brazil-- our only chance at kicking out illegal cattle ranchers and miners before it's too late.

Why avoid meat?

JBS is the world's largest meat exporter, and it's Brazilian. To date they can't be fully transparent with their supply chain. A recent Greenpeace and Guardian exposé shows that JBS, Minerva and Marfrig (other Brazilian meat giants) are directly linked to illegal cattle ranchers. The US, China, Japan and Europe are Brazil's leading beef importers-- chances are you've eaten illegally grazed beef.
