The Rhythm of Life - Manchester Cancer Choir

Donation protected

We are the Rhythm of Life Choir which was set up at The Christie Hospital 5 years ago. It is for anyone affected by cancer, patients, partners, friends , families and staff. Singing has lots of health benefits and also creates a feeling of togetherness. This feeling of togetherness is even more important at the moment as many of our choir members are shielding  due to Covid -19. Ensuring the choir meet on zoom every week is vital until we can all get together again to sing in harmony.

We have recently lost funding and are looking to raise money to keep our choir going during this difficult time.

Please support us if you can. Every little will help.

We were lucky enough last year to have the pleasure of performing at the iconic Salford Lads Club with the lovely Rowetta (from Happy Monday’s) . She popped into our zoom choir the other week to sing with us.

This is what mum Anna said:
”I have advanced breast cancer and the choir has been a real lifeline for me and my family, especially my two daughters, since joining a few years ago. It has been warm, welcoming and uplifting at a time of my life when I otherwise felt isolated and anxious. It has given me so much more confidence and feels like a second family. I would feel bereft if it was not able to carry on during lockdown. The positivity and support it offers is so much more important now we have such limited contact with other people.
