Richard Meyn "Have Bass, Will Play Again!"
Our friend and colleague Richard Meyn has been battling a serious infection, which ultimately resulted in surgery to remove his left foot. Richard is recovering and is excited to get back to playing! In fact, he has returned to perform with the Eugene Symphony for our final concert of the 2017-18 season!
Medical expenses from his surgery, rehabilitation and related care are anticipated to be very high. We musicians of the Eugene Symphony are asking our entire Willamette Valley musical family, and beyond, to join us in this campaign to help defray the costs of these coming medical expenses. We want to spread the word to all our fellow musicians, patrons, arts organizations staff, boards of directors, guilds, current and former students, faculty colleagues, friends, and broader community who have undoubtedly been positively impacted by Richard’s many years of friendship and service to our community.
We are beginning with a fundraising goal of $20,000. This figure is subject to adjustment as expenses become more clearly known.
Please join us in this effort!

Richard would also like to share the following personal note:
To My Dear Friends and ESO Colleagues,
Please allow me to thank the entire ESO community for their kindness and support in creating this campaign.
The Eugene Symphony has been an important part of my life for many years and is my privilege to get to know so many wonderful people and count them as dear friends.
I am so pleased that I’ve been able to rejoin my colleagues for the final concert of this memorable season under the leadership of our dynamic new Music Director, Francesco Lecce-Chong.
