The Richards Twins (Lakelyn Marie & Wrenley Ryan)

Deavon and Holly's Story:

Deavon works in law enforcement and Holly is a sole owner of a small business, Studio Bea Dance. They married in July 2, 2022 and found out in August 2022 they were expecting their first child. Unfortunately, doctors found the pregnancy to be ectopic and required emergency surgery. They were left devastated and Holly lost one of her fallopian tubes.

Fast forward to April 2023 and the couple found out they were expecting again and this time with twin girls!

August 9, 2023 Deavon and Holly attended a follow up appointment and were informed they would be admitted due to the cervix being nearly gone and the girls were ready to come out. After being life flighted to Iowa City Holly went into labor and birthed both girls at 21 weeks 6 days.

Lakelyn Marie Richards was born August 10, 2023 at 2:08 AM. She weighed .89 pounds and was 10.6 inches long. Unfortunately she passed away in the birthing process.

Wrenley Ryan Richards was born August 10, 2023 at 4:03 AM. She weighed .812 pounds and was 10.5 inches long. She was taken immediately to the NICU where she remains under great care.

We, as a community, are specifically trying to help Holly and Deavon in these ways.

1st- Ronald McDonald House Charities (The RMH helps families feel at home, even when they can’t be. They provide comfort, care, and kindness to families when they must travel for needed medical care for their child.)

2nd- University of Iowa Stead Family's Children's Hospital NICU Gift Fund

(Provides support for the patients and families served by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.)

Also note at this time the couple are asking for patience in responding to messages and calls to them directly as they need time with their sweet Wrenley girl and their privacy/space during this devastating time.

In this time of uncertainty we wanted to still remind people of the divine plan and love we need to have for each other, especially in times of need.
