The Riemann Family Is Fighting Terminal Illness
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Paul Riemann. I am a husband (to Becky, a preschool teacher for 29 years), father (to Eric and Allison), Christian, and patriot. In February, 2014 I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure at the young age of 40. This left me exhausted, fatigued, breathless, and frequently sleepy. I went from regularly working 70 to 80 hours a week as a cab driver, to struggling to do the bare minimum of getting out of bed and facing the day.
Since my diagnosis I've been unable to work. This has placed a tremendous financial strain on my household. I was approved for Social Security Disability in June of 2015. This meager quantity of assistance is helpful, but not able to meet our needs...especially given the economic downturn and inflation over the past few years that has hurt most people. The medical bills and credit card debt are beyond my ability to pay. We might be facing a bankruptcy. I am ashamed that I cannot provide for my family.
My condition has slowly deteriorated and objectively worsened, and I have the added strain on my health of diabetes, neuropathy, and chronic pain from head to toe. I experience daily pain in my neck, back, chest, knees (both need surgery), legs and feet. I have already lived well past my life expectancy with my heart condition. My time may be very short. Only God knows. I don't want to leave my family in debt when I am gone.
For these reasons I have set up this GoFundMe account. In the hope I can raise the funds to cover my family's financial obligations. Nothing could ease my mind more, and bring peace, than knowing my wife and children won't be strapped with debt when my appointed time comes. This concern dominates my thoughts every single day. God bless you for your generosity and compassion. Thank you so very much for reading my story and giving me your consideration.
