The Road to QUARRY 2.0

To our community:

The outpour of support we have received since announcing the closure of our beloved venue has meant the world. To see how many people have been impacted by our venue over the past five years has been both emotional and encouraging.

As mentioned in our statement, we are working hard towards securing a new venue to open in 2025. Many have reached out and asked if there was any way to help or donate, so we have decided to open this crowd fundraiser. Please donate if you can, every little helps as we embark on this new adventure.

The funds received from this fundraiser will be used for the following:

We wanted to take this opportunity to jump on here and address what is probably not a surprise to many of our regular attendees here at QUARRY, and also put an end to any rumours circulating.

Over the past 12 months, we have been aware of planning permission to turn the units located on Love Lane into a luxury apartment complex. This application, along with the sale of the land, has been approved and is set to be completed in January 2025. The units in question include 17 Love Lane; the current premises of our beloved venue.

At present, we are being kept out of the loop of any timelines - however, it is clear that this is something we cannot fight, and it is highly likely that we will have to leave the premises at some stage in early 2025. It is with a heavy heart then that we must announce the closure of QUARRY as we currently know it at 17 Love Lane.

As a team we have had an experience of a lifetime running events at 17 Love Lane. Since officially opening in January 2020, the venue has grown beyond our wildest dreams and fostered a supportive and kind creative community. It gives us a great sense of pride to know this, and we’re incredibly grateful for all the friendships we’ve made along the way.

We want to say a big thank you to all the artists who have performed and to our community, and ask that you keep supporting the venue. We will keep putting on shows until told otherwise, and have some big plans for the beginning of 2025 as a send off.

Finally, we would also like to add that this is not the end. QUARRY is much greater than its current premises and we have set plans in motion to continue in a new site. We will keep the community updated on this progress but for now we can say that it’s looking positive.
