Make a difference for students in the building trades today by contributing to the Robert Smith Memorial Scholarship.
The Robert Smith Memorial Scholarship is a new collaborative initiative between the St Andrew’s Society of Philadelphia and The Carpenters’ Company of the City and County of Philadelphia. The purpose of the Robert Smith Memorial Scholarship is to increase appreciation for colonial America’s premier architect and master builder Robert Smith (1722-1777) while supporting the professional development of a current student pursuing education and/or employment in the traditional building trades.
One student will be selected annually from participating institutions to receive $5,000. Scholarship funds can be used for the regular costs associated with the recipient’s educational institution or for costs associated with a special project defined by the student to enhance their learning or professional development. This could entail a Scotland-based apprenticeship, internship or other educational experience.
Your donation will go directly to this scholarship fund, and assist in providing new educational opportunities for students. For more information, visit the scholarship information page here .
