The robot building family needs help.

You know us from building robots and all the fun stuff we’ve been able to share online. But what you probably didn’t know is a year ago my husband lost his job in tech, after 12 years with his company.

While David is still up for roles, we can’t bank on it. As we’ve experienced multiple times already (and other job seekers have too) that nothing is set in stone in this job market. What you’re told you have winds up falling through over and over. Promised positions leaving us ghosted without a word again. We never thought it would take this long to find anything, I wouldn’t wish this on anyone I know. 14 months without anything is difficult.

Without unemployment, savings, or anything substantial to sell anymore we have to ask again for help from the community around us. Our rent in Seattle is too high for any aid, and it’s our biggest hurdle. The rent is due June 1st, our utilities, cable, and phone due in less than a week.

When David is working the high rent has never been an issue. But due to the needs of our special needs son and proximity to his doctors being homeless or losing this home is something we’re fearful of. The money we’re asking for will be used for rent, keeping our utilities, gas, internet, phones on, & food for the animals and ourselves.

So many are going through this right now, I wish I could help them. But I am embarrassed we need to ask for any help let alone an again. Unfortunately people in our situation have very few options right now, all we can do is hope we can keep our family together under our roof.
