Since the middle of 2023 I have been helping the beach dogs in Bali.

For those of you who have been to Bali, you know how these dogs can capture your heart. You’ll also know that these dogs are in desperate need of help, love and medical attention.

My main focus this past year has been on sterilising the dogs to reduce more unwanted, unhealthy and unloved puppies being born. As well as this and with some help from two local ladies we have established regular feeding programs, flea / tick control and some vital vet visits for vulnerable dogs as well as the first rehoming of a dog.

Meet Rocky, he is a typical Bali street dog, who was born on the beach 18 months ago.

Sadly he developed a fluid sack under his skin which was only getting bigger. In June 2024 we raised the money to send him to a local clinic to have the pocket removed. The operation was a success however 10 days into his recovery he escaped from the clinic. He was missing for 8 days before reappearing back at the beach. He travelled over 10kms to get home, wagging his tail as he ran back into the familiar arms of the local Balinese ladies that have fed him since birth.

Rocky has been my inspiration for setting up a GoFundMe page.

Alone, we can only achieve so much; together, we can do so much more.

This isn’t going to change the huge problem but just a small amount can make a huge difference to one dog’s life.
