The Roman 'Roach' Foronda Family
Donation protected
Roman Roach Foronda passed away on January, 16, 2022 after weeks of battling Covid in the ICU. The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming. There have been numerous offers from friends to provide assistance. We are setting up this crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to help offset and cover expenses such as hospital / medical, funeral, and other costs the family might have to cover in the coming months.
We are fortunate to live in a community with multiple options for live music. It is rare for a suburban city such as Upland to have so many bands and venues as entertainment choices. Roman Roach Foronda participated in and helped nurture this environment since he first picked up a guitar at 8 years of age. For over sixty years he played hundreds of private parties, high school dances, reunions, weddings, city events, private clubs, etcetera, etcetera. He provided the soundtrack for people's memorable events and milestones.
Roach established the band Backstreet in 1973 and created a community of people who came for the music. In recent years, he expanded his legacy by playing in other local bands such as Gene Pool, Blue Hwy and Soul Project 909. His annual garage party, Roachfest, started almost 30 years ago and became one of the most anticipated events of the year with multiple bands and hundreds of friends. Roach was a respected musician and showman who was happiest on stage when his friends filled the dance floor with smiles.
The only thing Roach loved more than music was his family. He was very proud of his loving wife, Cindy, his children and grandchildren.
Even if you have the best insurance coverage, the out of pocket costs can be immense. We're asking people to make donations for a man that gave us so much. Amounts large or small are greatly appreciated.
Please keep Cindy and the Foronda family in your thoughts and prayers.
