This past year, God’s been stripping my life all the way down—from job loss to being hospitalized and even experiencing homelessness. At first, it felt like a punishment—like my life was spiraling out of control. In June, I hit one of the darkest moments of my life, where hope felt so far away, and I was completely overwhelmed by the darkness.

But as I’m walking through this season, I’m starting to see it’s a blessing in disguise. The noise of the world is quieting down, and I’m finding myself in God’s presence more than ever, just listening to His voice.

He’s refining me, just like it says in Isaiah 48:10: "I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction." He’s transforming me from feeling like a victim to embracing my true identity as His daughter. In this quiet, God’s truth is becoming clearer and clearer. The words of John 1:12—“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”—have been my lifeline.

Interestingly, this album, itself is going through its own season of testing. It has been prophesied every year since 2021 by several ministers, but something has hijacked its completion every single time. As a team, we’ve faced setbacks left and right—several of the writers have experienced significant losses in their families, forcing us to slow down progress. I was able to secure a grant, but it only covered $2,000, and I’m up against a completion deadline of December 31, 2024.
