The RWB Shed Dust Collection Project
Hello, my name is Phil Howell and I'm the Treasurer for The RWB Shed, based in Royal Wootton Bassett.
Before The RWB Shed lost its previous base of operation when the landlord needed to reclaim full access of the site, we did all of our hobby work outdoors. This was fine during summer months, but not so much during colder or inclement periods. After nearly 12 months of searching, we have found a new location where the more mature members of the community can get together for friendship and hobby work, which plays such an important role in mental health and sociability. In addition to our own work, we proved assistance to the local communities, whether it be an individual, playgroup or school, or indeed, our own local Town Council.
Our new location will be indoors and under cover, which will be a huge improvement. However, that brings a new hurdle to climb. As most of our work is of a woodworking nature, there are obviously airborne particles of dust. We therefore need to outfit our new home with proper dust extraction so that our members can enjoy their hobbies and friendship in as much safety as possible. To satisfactorily accomplish this we need to install suitable kit, with this likely to cost in the region of four thousand pounds (£4,000). As we are a small group, but with aspirations to grow, we do not have sufficient funds to meet these costs so we are asking our friends and followers to assist us wherever possible. Our crowdfunding initial target is two thousand pounds (£2,000) Being a small club, our funds are limited, but we are prepared to try to match any funds raised.
If we exceed our target , it will allow us to put additional monies to installing electrics as well as hopefully a stairlift.
Thank you
