The Safety Ride Project’s Inaugural Fundraiser
Donation protected
On February 28, 2023 at 5:37am, I survived a horrifying kidnapping attempt while walking to work in the dark. After several months of working with the Brooklyn SVU, my case was closed without justice. This traumatic experience has led me to advocate for change and I need your help to expand my impact.
Many workers like myself are not compensated enough to live within a convenient distance from their workplaces or afford personal vehicles. This is not about convenience; it's about safety and dignity for all workers who deserve safe passage as they contribute their labor.
In order to create lasting impact, we have created a petition to advocate for meaningful legislation surrounding transportation. Sign our petition here: The Safety Ride Project Petition. It's time corporations take responsibility for ensuring their employees' safety during these hours when public transit may be limited or non-existent.
While we continue to seek structural change, The Safety Ride Project aims to provide safe, reliable transportation to work for women, transgender, and non-binary people. We are committed to serving vulnerable communities with crowdfunded transportation.
We invite you to join us in pursuing our end goal of fundraising $30,000 that will secure 550 safe, all-electric Revel rides for our sponsored community members.
You may make your donation here on GoFundMe or volunteer your time at SafetyRide.org. Thank you for your support!
