California’s New 2020 Law Limits Registration of Older Diesel Trucks! In an effort to meet emissions regulations, a new 2020 law limits the registration of some older diesel trucks in California, deeming them unroadworthy. This is the case with the current Salt Mine box truck, which they use to transport food, materials, donations, and everything in between, 24/7/365. If you are familiar with the vital services that the Salt Mine provides (ie; Food Closet, Thrift Store), you know that losing the use of this truck is not just a huge loss, but a threat to disrupt critical services that help to generate donations for those that desperately them. YOU CAN HELP!

The Salt Mine uses a box truck to move donations and food supplies from all over the region to their facility, supporting their primary mission of feeding our neighbors in need. California passed new regulations preventing the old box truck from being eligible to register for 2022. As a result, we are asking you to help us raise the funds needed to purchase a new box truck  for this amazing ministry. We also operate an after school youth program for teens in need in our city of Lincoln. We provide a robust homeless care program to the transients and homeless throughout Placer county and the surrounding areas.
