The Samantha Flowers Relief Fund

Hi, I'm Ryan.

My friend Samantha is a video game casting director, sound designer & voice actress. She's an extraordinary talent and impressively dedicated hard worker. Whichever project she works on, it’s always guaranteed that she gives it her all every time, frequently putting the work and others before herself.

This is doubly so when it comes to taking care of her beloved cats. Samantha is a proud and loving pet owner who has sacrificed much in order to give her animals long and happy lives. She has been rehabilitating and rehoming strays since 2018. Many of the babies were feral, and have come a long way since then, becoming an essential part of her family.

Cats such as Pika here were nursed back to health by Samantha personally. His tail had to be amputated earlier this year.

Tommy was practically blind, and required surgical care before Samantha was able to give him a nice retirement home!

Brother Bear was feral, but through Samantha’s patience and kindness he was able to gain confidence and become a regular old lazy housecat. He was diagnosed with stomatitis and FIV, and needed dental surgery.

Tragically he passed away recently due to complications from the surgery. Samantha was with him at the vets as they put the poor baby to sleep, and he went peacefully and with no pain. Understandably she is quite devastated as she tried very hard to care for Brother but in the end there was just nothing else that could be done.

These are not the full extent of the problems. 2023 has been a very difficult year for Samantha and the cats, with multiple accidents and unforeseen surgeries required. Unfortunately the resulting medical expenses from these life-saving surgeries have put a strain on her finances. After being made aware of this situation myself and many of her close friends have come together to create this gofundme campaign for her.

The objective of this gofundme is to try and raise around 5,000 USD (which converts to 6843 CAD) to help her family out and possibly alleviate some of the pressure on her shoulders. As an added bonus a portion of funds (including any additional funds made surpassing the initial fundraising goal) will go to an animal shelter of her choice upon the campaign closing.

I myself am hosting this gofundme for Samantha because being the selfless philanthropist she is, she would never ask for charity herself. She would never create a gofundme, no matter how much she needs it. However I, and a great many other of her close friends and colleagues deeply care for Samantha. We want nothing more than for her (and the animals she cherishes) to be happy and healthy.

This gofundme campaign is initially planned to last through the rest of November (2023) into early December (2023). However these plans can change depending on how quickly we reach our initial goal.

Please consider donating and helping Samantha and her cats out, even if it is a small amount. She has brought so much joy to the world through her creative endeavors and now is our chance to give something back to her.
