Help The Saylor Family with Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I'm Morgan Saylor. As most of you have been following since May, my dad, Shane Saylor has been having some medical issues. At first, we thought it was something called diverticulitis, that caused a perforation of his colon. They were scheduled to do an operation at the end of August, but sadly my dad had a stroke, which held up all progress, surgery couldn't happen after a stroke. Sadly, this pushed my dad to the back of the line in the surgeon he previously had's eyes. During this time, the pain was getting worse and worse. Finally in the end of september, we were seen again by surgeons, and we were finally being taken seriously. By October 4th, my dad was sent to the ER, and a biopsy was taken from the very swollen and painful mass, and sadly by October 5th, we found out it is Colon cancer. The new surgeon went in hoping to remove it all, but sadly it is too big and too intertwined with his abdominal wall to remove it at that time. After more testing, we have found out that it is stage 4 localized, but aggressive colon cancer. We are starting chemo this monday. My dad has worked so hard his whole entire life, as i'm sure many of you know. He has helped many reading this with their vehicles over the years, no matter how hard the job. A lot of the time i'm sure he wouldn't take any money from you too, because that's the type of guy he is. He has been there for so so many people my entire life, whether it was giving a family a good hunk of deer meat because he knew it wasn't the best year for them, finding a young person, or a provider of a family, a good deal on a car so they could get to work, inviting friends to holidays when he knows they might have nowhere to go, opening his house to people with no place to stay, and most of all just being an ear for anyone who needed it. If you personally know my dad, you know, they don't make them like him anymore. He has never been laid up this long, and it is killing him. He is one of the strongest, most caring person I know, and he does not deserve to have to worry about money during a time like this. It was not an easy task for my dad, Shane, to allow me to ask for help. But, he deserves help. Especially after living 50 years with his main goal to help and be there for others. I know times are super tough right now for a lot of people, and I do not want anyone giving us it if they do not have it, but I know so many people love, cherish, and want to help my dad, and we have no idea what the future truly holds, but we do know bills do not stop. If you have prayed, reached out, or just thought of my dad, and or my family, thank you so very much. If you do have the means to help, I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am. We are so so lucky to be surrounded with so much love and strength. Thank you so much.
