Help Stephen's charity give accomodation to young volunteers

The Stephen Cox Garden Trust is an English Charity for the advancement of education in horticulture and conservation. Stephen started building his garden in 2012, beginning from a small, empty field. Over the years, he turned it into a vibrant, almost magical haven for wildlife and biodiversity. From 2017 he has been hosting UK and international students at his home. It’s a win-win arrangement: The volunteers help him with day-to-day management of the garden and trust activities. In exchange, Stephen offers food and accommodation, and he teaches them about horticulture in harmony with nature. It is a great opportunity for them to get out of their comfort zone, enjoy travel in southern England, and engage in international friendship. Many volunteers link up with sports clubs in the area or pick up all sorts of other activities.

Lately however, funds have been running low. The charity will soon be unable to finance student accommodation or gardening expenses. My name is Davide, and I am one of the many former volunteers who have worked with Stephen. My time at his place was a wonderful learning experience, and I am still friends with him after four years. I would therefore like to ask you for your support to keep the charity, and all it gives, going.

What the Garden Trust does

The charity has offered a broad range of services over the years. Apart from the student programme mentioned above, these include:

• Book and video publishing about conservation and gardening, trust library

Garden management and trust activities combined are a lot of work for one person. Stephen works for the charity unpaid. He relies on the international volunteers to help keep it running. But he needs support to cover the costs of food and accommodation.
