Nearly one year on from the death of Darren Schmidt, Max, George, Freddy and Fiona are adjusting to a hard new normal.
Where Darren was an excellent junior cricket coach at UQ and St Joseph's Gregory Terrace, a contributor to the St Ignatius Community in Toowong, and beautiful father to beautiful boys did so much for the communities he was a part of. We are all still adjusting to the loss.
The generosity of the community has been outstanding. Fiona is thankful for all that has been done to date to support the family as they adjust.
The community is still keen to give. Stay tuned for updates.
In the meantime, a Melbourne Cup fundraiser has been organised by Trish Morahan (thanks Trish - you are outstanding). The details of that event are:

Donations are a practical way of showing your ongoing support for Fiona and the boys and our ongoing appreciation for all Darren Schmidt contributed to our communities.
Funds are needed urgently and on an ongoing basis.
Decisions as to how the funds will be applied will be made by Fiona and the boys.
