Textbooks for the Iris Stubbs Primary School

***UPDATE!! We reached our goal of $1,000 dollars thanks to everyone who has donated so far! We are only at the beginning of our fundraising mission and still receiving donations. Because of this, we are changing our goal to $2,000!!

Hi! We’re the Spring class of 2023 from the School for Field Studies on the Turks and Caicos Islands! We’ve come here to learn about this beautiful tropical ecosystem and the history of this island. While we’ve been here we’ve had the opportunity to work very closely with the community, hosting a weekly outreach day where kids from the community can come to our center and play games, make crafts, and even learn to swim! In addition to hanging out with these kids, we want to fundraise for their schools. Our goal is to raise $1,000 which will be donated to the Iris Stubbs Primary School. The money will be used to buy Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment books which are the books that help the 6th graders study to pass a test required to move to high school.

If we raise well over our intended goal, we plan to donate the money to the school to buy whatever else they need. Past students who have raised extra money have helped build a new playground after the school’s was destroyed in a hurricane and others have bought iPads for the high school classrooms.
