Hey, it's Doug Storbeck here, one of Scott's younger brothers.
As you know, we lost Scott way too soon and way too early at the young age of 57 after a brief but intense battle with cancer. Scott loved nothing more than his family, cooking and Detroit sports. He'd be over the moon to know that Michigan won the college National Football Title, the Red Wings went 9-2-2 (20 pts) in the month of January, and that the Lions came within one win of going to the Super Bowl!. For obvious reasons we won't mention the Pistons.
Scott also absolutely loved being in the kitchen. You see, Scooter was a seasoned Certified Executive Chef (CEC®). He was an artist in the kitchen, creating beautiful and delicious dishes that he would proudly share on the Instagram. Chef Scott poured his heart and soul into every meal he made, and his passion for cooking was evident every time he entered the kitchen. His culinary skills were impeccable, and he had a way of bringing people together through his food.
We would like Chef Scott's legacy to live on by providing financial resources to and supporting passionate individuals in pursuit of their culinary education. To that end, we've created a non-profit organization, The Scott W. Storbeck CEC® Memorial Foundation with a mission to "Celebrate Chef Scott's culinary spirit by fueling dreams and to inspire through flavor."
Our inaugural fundraiser is scheduled for April 6, 2024 in Waterford, MI to which details can be found here .
We've created this page as a convenient way for those who would like to support the foundation with a financial donation. No gift is too small and you'll be making a difference knowing 100% of the proceeds raised will be going to help build the next generation of culinary professionals and Chefs.
On behalf of the Foundation, we thank you for your support and Bon Appetit!
