***It is with a heavy heart I must update this fundraiser. Jose's remains were identified and confirmed yesterday by officials in Zacatecas, Mexico. Jose's family now must begin the process of recovering him to bring him home. Continued fundraising will go towards transporting him back to the United States to be laid to rest. Hi, my name is Jo Stahl and I am fundraising for the family of Jose Gutierrez. For anyone who has ever met Jose, he has the most contagious smile that reflects an open and giving heart. Jose is one of those 'one in a million people' who you never forget and are always happy to see. Jose graduated from Miami University with a master's degree in architecture. He went on to pursue his dream at Champlin Architecture in Cincinnati. Jose is a beloved son and brother who has always placed his family above all else. Devastatingly, on Christmas Day, Jose was abducted while visiting his fiance in Mexico. Now, Jose's family, along with the family of his fiance, her sister and her cousin are desperately trying to find them.
