The Seddon Legacy Project for bereaved children

Hi, my name is Anne-Marie. I began the Seddon Legacy Project in November with the aim to reach families in Northamptonshire who have children affected by bereavement.

Following my own experience with minimal support for my two children, who lost their dad in April last year, I noticed a gap in the community for peer support and viola! TSLP was created.

Since we have planned support groups, delivering the first in December.

I have been overwhelmed with the response and the need for a project like this in the community.

As a project we are fulfilling our aims and everyday there are requests coming in from families, professionals etc to learn more about what we are about.

I have been offering my time to this project - it’s been a saving grace for me and have loads of ideas and potential offerings to support the young children we are in contact with and will be going forward.

So far, everything we have done has been self funded by myself and we have been reliant on the kindness of others for use of spaces, materials and in December, Christmas presents for our children.

I am starting fundraising for the project to support with material costs for crafts and to use for guests to our groups / parties that provide such joy and relief to children who need it most.

Please support where you can no matter how little. I know times are so tough for everyone but as cliche as it is - every little helps.

Thank you to all who have made this an overwhelming success so far. I’m so excited for the future of the project, including hopefully expansion, registration as a charity which in turn helps so many families like ours.
