The Shebler-O’Meara Family
Donation protected
Hi my name is Lyn, I am fundraising for my brother Kevin, his wife Cate and their family who are doing it tough.
Kevin O’Meara was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on January 2nd 2014. He battled the cancer in and out of hospital for many years including radiation, chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and back surgery. He was put in remission on October 16th 2017.
Then on November 9th 2017 Cate Shebler was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer for which treatment consisted of chemotherapy, radiation and a surgery to remove the golf ball sized lump. On December 7th 2018, Cate was told she is in remission only to find out that once again, her husband Kevin was diagnosed with not one, but two types of Leukaemia 4 days later (December 11th 2018).
Kevin is undergoing chemotherapy for 6 weeks in hospital and is allowed daily visits home as long as his vital signs stay where they are and don’t drop lower. His treatment and chemo will be ongoing for over two years.
I am reaching out to all of you to help my brother and his family. They have been through the worst but it is still not over. They would love to be able to go away together on a holiday when Kevin is well because they don’t know how much longer they have as a family. As Kevin cannot work and Cate is trying to support her family on one wage and her husband through his illness, she does not know how long she can continue to work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated in supporting the Shebler-O’Meara family.
