The Shultis family

Donation protected
Hi! This is Stefanie, Ashley’s sister! I’ve started this page to help support Logan and family during Logan’s cancer treatment. The page will be managed by myself and a couple friends. Any support whether a donation to help with medical expenses and gas, a gift card or even a prayer is greatly appreciated to help Logan, Dave, Ashley and Anthony through this time. We will post updates here as well if you want to follow his journey, below is his story.

Logan had surgery on November 9th on his tibia for what was thought to be an infection. A week after surgery, the surgeon called and had some gut wrenching news, he said that it wasn’t an infection, but cancer.
The following weeks were filled with meeting specialists, getting connected and choosing an oncology team and hospital, getting a PET and Chest CT and then on top of it WAITING for final pathology to come back. PRAISE GOD the scans showed that whatever we were up against is localized.

On Thursday, December 1st the pathology came back and a diagnosis was finally made. Ewing’s Sarcoma.

This cancer is not only rare, but aggressive, so that of course requires aggressive treatment. Logan will have roughly 34 weeks of treatment. He will cycle with 3 weeks of chemo, one week off. His 3rd week will require a week long stay in the hospital. After the first 12 weeks they will add radiation to his treatment.

Please pray for Logan as he goes through treatment. He has been incredibly positive through this process and we will work hard to help keep him in that mind set. We are Praying that the cancer responds to the treatment. We know there will be some bumps in the road but pray that they are minimal. We also pray that his side effects are minimal as well.
While they have a huge support system after recently relocating back to Illinois, they have a long road ahead with treatments multiple times a month, doctor appointments, etc. Lurie’s Children’s Hospital is about a 90 minute drive each way, and they will be making that drive multiple times a month. When he is completed with treatment, they will need to continue to go to the hospital every 3 months for 2 more years for scans and appointments.

Any help is greatly appreciated to get them through this difficult time.
